For generations the Otto Zern Company has been designing and producing lamps and lighting for the interior and exterior of houses, parks and squares, with the goal of creating an overall composition.

Many of our customers come to us because they haven’t yet found the appropriate lighting for the living room, the hallway, the roof terrace, or the front of the house. We advise our customers on the most appropriate style and form of lamp to go with the existing architecture. We assume the light planning, combining lamps with direct light and indirect light into a perfect shadow play, which literally "puts the room into perspective".

Our handcrafting skills extend into the most diverse styles, including geometric Art Deco, playful Art Nouveau, unostentatious Bauhaus, Baroque or Gothic forms, country style, antique lamps or a symbiosis of designs.

When producing our lamps only those handcrafting techniques handed down from generation to generation according to ancient tradition, such as forging, stretching, shrinking, perforating, gorging, riveting, driving, punching, engraving, soldering, fire welding are applied. Gold plating and patinating allow the creation of works exuding harmony and life.

We use iron, brass, bronze and high-grade steel and combine them with glass, free-blown coloured glasses and other precious metals. Surfaces can be gold plated, silver plated or refined by any other patina desired.
